Lynne Martin

Lynne Connolly writes historical romance under the name Lynne Martin. Lynne has had a varied career. She's part English, part Romany, married to an Irish Viking. She lives in England, near the vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool, and she loves the Beatles, Manchester United and her children, but not necessarily in that order.

She wanted to be a librarian, but she became a rock star aide, a toy buyer, a strategic planning manager and a management consultant instead.

She has more letters after her name than in it, but she can never remember what they are. Her academic career centred on art history, a subject she likes to drop in to her books from time to time. In December, 2005, in collaboration with Gail Northman, Lynne gave a class to the Beau Monde chapter of the RWA on "The English Country House."

Now she's a novelist. She's collected awards, five star reviews and so on, but while they are lovely to receive, her real reward is the writing. Writing is a lifelong passion, so eventually she decided to go with it, instead of fighting the urge. Lynne is probably best known for her Richard and Rose series, about the courtship and marriage of two Georgian lovers, and the new Department 57 series of paranormal romances. Her previous published Regency romance, Vanessa, was a delight to write and it was sheer enjoyment to return to the Regency era with Laura.
