Uncial Press eBooks
Grand Opening Today!
(OK, so the grand opening is tomorrow, but we are so excited that we thought we would start celebrating early.)
The Uncial Letter
Volume 1, Number 3
October 13th, 2006
We're live! Omigosh, that deserves a whole line of exclamation marks. Uncial Press is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!!!!!!
We've tested all the links, tried out all the downloads, and agonized over the arrangements of the pages (well, mostly Star has, because she's the webmistress, but Jude's been busy too, making covers, formatting and zipping downloads). We realize that there are probably some little glitches that will show up in the next few days, but the big stuff works (for the moment, at least) and our books are up there for the world to buy.
Now is a good time to repeat what we say on the website and what we tell people who ask why we're crazy enough to start a publishing business in an already highly competitive market. We believe readers want quality reading, that when you spend your hard-earned dollars, you want to know that the ebook you buy has been carefully selected, meticulously edited, and proofread again and again. No matter how hard we work to make a book perfect, we've yet to achieve it, but we try, and so do our authors. If you find a typo, or any other error, don't ignore it (or worse yet, tell your friends about it)--tell us. If you have trouble with a download, read the instructions again, and if you still can't get it to work, tell us. We want you to find it so easy you can almost do it in your sleep.
The one thing we DO want you to tell your friends is about us. Send them our way with a recommendation for a great read. When you've finished one of our books and still have the satisfied glow that comes from a memorable reading experience, tell someone. Tell lots of someones.
We'll be bringing you some great stories in the coming months. mystery, fantasy, Regency and contemporary romance, paranormal, humor, and maybe even a bit of farce. We've half a dozen Novel Bytes scattered here and there among our upcoming titles, for those times when you haven't time for a long book. And of course, there will be our Christmas surprise, our gift to all our readers.
Just to remind you: Around 17 November we'll be putting our next releases up. Lesley-Anne McLeod's poignant LOVE'S LIBERTY and C.S. Fuqua's dark fantasy, EYES OF A CHILD, will be the debut stories in our Novel Bytes line of short reads for busy people. Susanne Marie Knight will return with a delightful Regency Time Travel, HAVE CHRISTMAS CARD, WILL TRAVEL...
We'll be putting these newsletters on the website, fancied up with graphics and color. The first two issues will be up in a week or two, but this one can be found right now at www.uncialpress.com/news/news1006.html.
Remember, it's easy to subscribe (uncial-letter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com), so spread the word.
