The Uncial Letter
Volume 1, Number 7
February 2007
By now you're all done with Valentine's Day and are looking forward to drinking green beer and eating shamrock salad.
You're not? Neither are we, although rumor has it that there are those who do indulge in honor of a certain Irish saint.
For us here at Uncial Press, March will bring us a couple of other reasons to celebrate. The first occurs the week of 4 to 10 March is (Ta-da! Drumroll! Fireworks and cheering masses!) Read an eBook Week.
How did you get started reading eBooks? Have you run out of shelf space and discovered that you can store a whole lot of eBooks on a very small thumb drive? Are you concerned about the enormous waste of resources that's part of mass market book distribution? Or have you simply gotten tired of reading the same story over and over, because there really isn't a lot of variety in the books you see on the supermarket racks each month?
We'd love to hear your story. In fact, we just plain love to hear from readers. Write to us, even if it's just to say hi, to share a joke, to ask a question, or maybe even to pass on your favorite cool URL.
So what's new for February? Romance, of course. And such romance.
Sheila Simonson takes us back to the Regency period with her warm, perceptive tale of a dysfunctional family and what two very practical people do to fix it--and what happens to them as they do. This wonderful book has been out of print for far too long, and we are proud to bring it back. Don't miss A COUSINLY CONNEXION.
Move forward in time to see a young bride left at the altar in Jana Richard's romantic comedy, HER BEST MAN. Instead of wallowing in self pity, Sarah finds an unusual cure for her heartbreak. This is Jana's first book, and we are so very pleased she chose us for her debut.
And then in March, we've got a pair of memorable reads for you.
In Lesley-Anne McLeod's charming Regency, Lady Iphigenia Brierley is THE BEGGARMAID. Lord Wessington's return to society coincides with a time of crisis in her pitiable family. He offers himself as her rescuer. She can only wonder why...
Michelle Levigne takes us to another time and another world as she introduces her newest series with ZYGRADON, a fantasy strongly rooted in the Merlin legend. Follow Mrillis and Ceera as they seek a way to stop star-metal from poisoning their world.
Check our upcoming titles.
So what's the other occasion we're celebrating in March? (More drum rolls, please!) OUR VERY FIRST EVER SALE. We'll celebrate sixth months of publishing extraordinary ebooks and we'll celebrate the Vernal Equinox, all in one swell foop...uh, fell swoop...uh, all at once.
Our entire backlist (everything we published in 2006) will be on sale for 40% off from the Vernal Equinox (20 March), through the end of the month. Only at our website. That's just twelve days, so watch your calendar. Don't miss it.
Stay warm and keep well.
